We had brunch at Le Pain Quotidien which is located in Shiba Koen, right by Tokyo Tower.

Day 6 of my Vegan cleanse, I had the green salad and side of Hummus.

Signs of spring! My favorite season is right around the corner!

 

For dinner, I had a Shungiku Salad with Sesame Oil & Salt, and sauteed Enoki mushrooms.

Tomorrow is my last day of this Vegan/no alcohol cleanse! It's actually gone by really fast and wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. My body definitely feels lighter, especially when I go for a run.

Meguro-gawa

A couple of days before I left Japan, I went to go see Sakura in Nakameguro. This was my second year in a row making it out to the Meguro River (last year) but this year, I missed 'mankai' (full-bloom). Sakura is so delicate and short lived but I guess that is what makes us look forward to it even more.

This year's sakura felt extra special and beautiful, symbolizing hope and new beginnings after going through such a disasterous March.

一周忌

Went to Fukuoka over the weekend to attend my Grandma's 1st year memorial (一周忌). Sakura was in full bloom at the temple and it was so beautiful.

Spring

is just around the corner!

Cherry Blossoms have started to bloom in our neighborhood. Sakura and blue skies make me happy!

Seattle Flowers

One of the things we noticed walking around Seattle was the beautiful flowers on display all over the city.

Lavender at Pike Place Market

They smelled so good, I couldn't resist buying some home. I love Lavender!

Dhalias in Seattle were gorgeous!

This was my favorite.

They are locally grown and come in a variety of colors. I noticed so much Dahlias that I came home and googled it to find out they are the official city flower of Seattle.

Flower Pots like this are all over the city and beautifully maintained.

I did some research to find out that in 1942, Seattle was established as the City of Flowers. The resolution requested and urged citizens to plant and cultivate a wide variety of flowers to further beautify the city. Awesome.

Kamakura Meigetsuin

I am so behind on updates!!

Going back to June... I've long wanted to see the hydrangeas in Kamakura so we took a day trip there.

Went to Meigetsuin, also known as the Ajisai-Dera (or Temple of Hydrangeas).

Serene.

Beautiful.

June is a rainy season in Japan (which totally sucked), but because of the rain, the trees and plants were so much greener.

Meigetsuin also has an Iris garden, which is an extra 500 yen to enter (on top of admission into the temple). It was really worth it!
