Watanabe (渡なべ)

Because I had an image of Ramen being super oily, I wasn't a fan.
I hadn't eaten Ramen in years, but because
its such a competitive market, the stores are now focusing on quality.
Then Ramen became a gourmet obsession in Japan.
'Gyokai' or seafood stock (mainly fish stock) has been very popular.
Watanabe in Takadanobaba is a Gyokai-Tonkotsu Ramen
but the taste of fish (Bonito) was so much richer than tonkotsu.
People waiting in line.
Interior. Only 8 seats.
My order: Charshu Ramen with Ajitama.
At 1,200 yen, its a little pricier than other places.
I don't know if you could tell, but they had the
BIGGEST menma that I've ever had in my life! (top left)

LOL... fumichan, that line that you took a picture of looks so disorganized. there are people to the left, and to the right of the door.

by the way, the workers that you took a picture of, is that one guy with his back turned a white guy? he doesnt seem to have the complexion of an asian guy. could just be the camera...

where do you find these great places all the time... and at 8 seats per full restaurant, no wonder they need to charge 1200 yen to keep afloat. i mean, at most, they can only make 9600 yen per full seating and people take 30 -60min to eat, so in a given day, they can bring in about 5-6 man during peak food hours... anyway, i digress.

the food looks positively delicious. the menma ha futuu mitai dakedo, it looks kinda big?
